Where to Watch Bobby & Whitney (2021)

Summary

Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown--to all intents and purposes, this should have been a match made in heaven. Both young, attractive, successful recording artists, seemingly with the world at their feet--how and why did it all go wrong? This 'perfect' love story went sour and the world was aghast. Petty jealousies, long-held resentments, the mismatch between fantasy and reality--all played their part. It is clear that Whitney's desire for the security of marriage and the need to be loved eventually obscured everything else. She gave up so much for Brown, including her extraordinary talent, and in many respects, Bobby Brown's life reads like a classic cautionary tale about the perils of fame and fortune. For Bobby, career envy reared its ugly head and played out in totally unacceptable behaviors. For Whitney, substance abuse to deal with the pressure she was under as a wife, mother, and singing star, lead to the unthinkable.
