Created by Winston Rekert and Danny Virtue, the show was about the titular character, a man named Michael Terry who quits his job as a therapist to become a mentor for troubled kids which he brings to his ranch, to teach them to lead a better life. The series was filmed and set in British Columbia's Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley. Neon Rider was produced by Alliance Atlantis and broadcast on the CTV Television Network on Saturdays at 10 PM then moved to 8 PM in 1991. The series was also popular in Gibraltar where it aired on GBC TV. SciFi veteran David Winning directed the third season episode "Straight Home" guest-starring Martin Cummins.
